Buying Guide: How to Shop for Bridesmaid Dresses

Choosing a bridesmaid dress can be a great experience for you whether you buy cheap bridesmaid dresses or expensive dresses. Check out our buying guide to make sure all parties feel comfortable and confident in their ensemble.

Consider the Season & Date

The season & date of the wedding is probably a big factor - fall tones and apple centerpieces for October, peonies and spring colors for May - but the time of day matters, too. Rich, saturated colors, such as deep plums and chocolate - are good in the fall and winter seasons, while lighter shades such as blue and white and iris are suitable for spring and summer.

Consider Your Own Dress

Look at your own wedding dress. Think about your dress and overall wedding style. Is it classic, modern, or retro? Your bridesmaid dress should fit in the atmosphere. If you wear flowing bohemian lace dresses, your maids may not suitable formal taffeta dresses.

Body Type

Think about your bridesmaids' body type and personal style. If you want them to wear the same dress, choose a girl that will look the most difficult to adapt to.
